ADMS Test Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL(Onsite)
Pay Rate: $50/hour on W2
70% match candidate would work for this role!

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced ADMS Test Engineer to support testing, validation, and deployment of GE Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and related utility applications.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of electric utility domain knowledge, ADMS/SCADA experience, and strong software testing skills. This role will work closely with utility operations, engineering, technology teams, and vendors to ensure distribution applications are reliable, functional, and production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for ADMS and related utility applications.
  • Perform functional, system, integration, regression, end-to-end, and UAT testing.
  • Test distribution operations workflows involving SCADA, OMS, DMS, switching, network models, and grid operations.
  • Validate interfaces and data exchanges between ADMS and systems such as GIS, SCADA, OMS, and AMI.
  • Create and maintain test assets using Tricentis qTest or comparable test management tools.
  • Log, track, retest, and document defects through resolution.
  • Review business and technical requirements and develop complete, traceable test coverage.
  • Support release validation, system upgrades, production readiness, and post-deployment testing.
  • Work with distribution operators, engineers, application teams, and vendors to convert real-world utility scenarios into test cases.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, execution results, and defects.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with GE ADMS, GE GridOS ADMS, GE EMS, GE DMS, GE OMS, or related GE utility applications.
  • Strong experience creating and executing structured test plans, test cases, and defect documentation.
  • Experience with electric utility operations, power delivery, grid management, or operational technology (OT) systems.
  • Understanding of electric distribution systems, SCADA, substations, power flow, grid operations, or distribution engineering.
  • Experience testing enterprise software using qTest or a similar test management platform.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements and operational scenarios into repeatable test cases.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GE Vernova, GE GridOS, GE ADMS, GE EMS, GE DMS, GE OMS, or GE SCADA.
  • Familiarity with e-terra, PowerOn Fusion, Source, Display Builder, or VSS.
  • Knowledge of FLISR, outage management, switching operations, network modeling, and distribution power flow.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, or similar tools.
  • Experience testing integrated IT/OT environments.
  • Knowledge of SQL, APIs, data validation, interface testing, or test automation.
  • Experience working in Agile, iterative delivery, or vendor-led utility implementations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a utility-focused test engineer who understands both ADMS technology and real-world distribution operations. Candidates with direct GE ADMS/GridOS experience and strong testing fundamentals are highly relevant for this position.
