Senior Full Stack Web Developer (PHP)<br />£50k-£60k DOE || Remote Working Summary of Position<br />The Senior Full Stack Web Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, optimisation and ongoing evolution of the TW Group’s e-commerce and wider web estate, spanning multiple websites, applications and technologies including Magento 2, Laravel, WordPress and other platforms.

Key responsibilities include:<br />Taking technical ownership of web development projects and change requests from initial requirements and solution design through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.<br />• Designing, developing and maintaining robust, scalable and maintainable full-stack web applications, e commerce solutions and custom websites.<br />• Supporting and continuously improving existing websites and applications, including identifying, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, performance bottlenecks and production incidents.<br />• Developing and maintaining integrations between internal and external systems using RESTful APIs, third-party services and other integration technologies.<br />• Contributing to technical architecture and solution design, ensuring implementations follow appropriate development standards, security practices, design patterns and coding best practices.<br />• Reviewing and improving existing codebases, identifying opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve performance and increase maintainability.<br />• Ensuring changes are thoroughly tested in appropriate development and controlled environments before release to production.<br />• Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess technical feasibility and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.<br />• Supporting development standards and engineering processes including source control, code reviews, CI/CD and deployment practices.<br />• Providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing and mentoring to other developers, while promoting high standards of code quality and engineering best practice.<br />• Keeping up to date with relevant technologies and identifying opportunities to improve the Group’s development processes, platforms and technical capabilities, including the appropriate use of automation and AI-assisted development tools.

Core Technical Skills<br />Strong proficiency in PHP (modern versions, OOP, best practices)<br />• Extensive experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or similar<br />• Solid front-end development skills using JavaScript / TypeScript<br />• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g.

React, Vue, or Angular)<br />• Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design<br />• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Essential Tools &amp; Ecosystem<br />Experience with version control using Git (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews)<br />• Strong working knowledge of Composer<br />• Experience with npm / Node.js • Familiarity with build tools (e.g.

Vite, Webpack)<br />• Experience working with Linux-based development environments Backend &amp; Database<br />Strong experience with MySQL<br />• Understanding of database design, indexing, and performance optimisation<br />• Experience with ORMs (e.g.

Eloquent, Doctrine)<br />• Knowledge of caching systems (Redis, Memcached) Architecture &amp; Best Practices<br />• Proven experience designing scalable and maintainable applications<br />• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns<br />• Experience writing clean, testable, and well-documented code<br />• Understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization DevOps &amp; Deployment<br />• Experience with CI/CD pipelines<br />• Familiarity with Docker and containerised environments<br />• Understanding of server management and web servers (Nginx, Apache) Experience<br />• 5+ years of professional development experience, primarily with PHP<br />• Proven track record of delivering production-grade web applications<br />• Previous experience in a senior role Soft Skills<br />• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail<br />• Ability to mentor and support junior developers<br />• Excellent communication skills • Proactive mindset with strong ownership of work Nice-to-Have<br />• Familiarity with GraphQL<br />• Experience with microservices architecture<br />• Exposure to automated testing pipelines and QA processes<br />• Experience working with magento 2 and building modules<br />• Understanding / experience of working with AI agents.
