Job Description
A leading middle-market private credit platform is seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President to join its investment team in New York. The firm specializes in providing customized capital solutions to middle-market companies, with a focus on non-sponsored lending, special situations, and complex credit investments across a broad range of industries.
This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team where investment professionals are involved throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from sourcing opportunities and structuring transactions to execution, portfolio management, and value creation. The role offers significant visibility, responsibility, and the ability to directly influence investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support all phases of the investment process, including opportunity evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, investment committee materials, and transaction execution
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess credit quality, downside protection, cash flow generation, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Participate in the sourcing and origination of new investment opportunities through relationships with management teams, investment banks, advisors, and other market participants.
- Structure investments and negotiate transaction terms alongside senior team members, legal counsel, and external advisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
- 4-10+ years of relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, leveraged finance, special situations investing, or investment banking.
- Demonstrated experience underwriting, structuring, and executing middle-market credit investments.
- Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and investment evaluation skills.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to take on significant responsibility within a growing platform.
