Java Fullstack AI Developer

Candidate must be currently based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Senior Java Backend Developer responsible for designing and developing high-performance banking applications, scalable APIs, and microservices. The ideal candidate should have strong Java/Spring Boot backend expertise with experience in Kafka, cloud platforms, DevOps, Agile delivery, and basic frontend integration.

·       8+ years of Java backend development experience

·       Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices

·       Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and scalable backend services

·       Strong knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture

·       Experience with API design, integration, and performance optimization

·       Cloud experience with OpenShift (OCP/OCP4 preferred), AWS, or Azure

·       Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native applications

·       Strong GitHub and GitHub Actions experience

·       Hands-on CI/CD pipeline automation and DevOps practices

·       Strong Linux/AIX experience

·       Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

·       Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor team members

·       Experience with code reviews and automated testing (JUnit/Mockito)

·       Exposure to Angular, JavaScript, and web application integration

·       Banking, financial services, or trading domain experience preferred

·       Experience building enterprise-scale applications and APIs

·       Knowledge of modern software development practices and architecture patterns

·       AI/GenAI exposure (LLM, RAG, LangChain, AI Agents, Vector DB) is a plus

·       Strong communication and problem-solving skills
