Hobbs Brook Real Estate seeks a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering operations for a Class A office portfolio in Wellesley, MA. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and BAS systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and superior tenant comfort. Responsibilities include supervising engineering staff, managing preventive maintenance, coordinating vendors and capital projects, and driving energy efficiency and sustainability. Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and BAS systems for a Class A office portfolio.
- Lead, schedule, and mentor on-site engineering and maintenance staff to ensure high service standards and timely response to tenant needs.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs, ensuring asset reliability and minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate and supervise vendors and contractors for repairs, inspections, and capital projects.
- Monitor and optimize building performance, energy use, and sustainability initiatives in line with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and regulatory requirements; maintain accurate documentation and logs.
- Partner with property management and leasing teams to support tenant move-ins, fit-outs, and ongoing operations.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements.
- Respond to building emergencies and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
