Fresh People are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a well-established fresh produce business based in the Tonbridge area of Kent.

This is a permanent, Monday to Friday engineering position offering a salary of £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a busy fresh produce operation, helping to maintain machinery, equipment and site reliability.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across site machinery and equipment
• Support the reliability and performance of production and packing equipment
• Complete electrical maintenance and repair work in line with current regulations
• Carry out mechanical repairs including motors, bearings, pumps, drives and associated equipment
• Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with production and operational teams to minimise downtime
• Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate maintenance and engineering records
• Support wider site engineering and maintenance requirements as required

The Person

• Previous engineering experience within the fresh produce industry is essential
• Experience working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
• Professional qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
• 18th Edition electrical qualification is essential
• Confident fault finding across both electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced production environment
• Able to work independently and take ownership of engineering issues
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
