Job Description

The IT Portfolio Management Lead is responsible for planning, tracking, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting for technology investments across "run" and "grow" initiatives. This role proactively manages and provides recommendations on labor and non-labor expenses to increase transparency, enable timely leadership decisions, and drive operational efficiencies. The role will lead the implementation of portfolio governance best practices across Technology and Finance, mature the end-to-end portfolio management lifecycle through standardization and automation, and translate complex financial and delivery data into clear narratives for senior and C-level leaders. Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead existing financial processes and executive reporting across Technology and business partners, ensuring timely, accurate, and decision-ready insights (actuals vs. budget/forecast).
  • Establish and continuously improve portfolio governance routines and controls across run/grow investments, including risk/issue/action tracking and leadership cadences.
  • Implement and mature portfolio management best practices, integrating financial processes with Agile delivery methods and tooling to improve alignment between funding, work execution, and outcomes.
  • Provide demand/capacity insights and recommendations across the portfolio for both people (employees and contingent workforce) and non-labor spend.
  • Provide oversight for variable staffing needs, including contract renewals, tenure governance, and disengagement processes, ensuring compliance and minimizing operational risk.
  • Design and maintain multi-year (3-5 year) financial forecast views, related trends, and scenario-based insights to inform strategic planning.
  • Drive efficiency improvements throughout the portfolio management lifecycle by identifying opportunities to streamline, simplify, and automate reporting and controls.
  • Develop compelling executive narratives and presentations that make complex financial and portfolio information accessible, engaging, and actionable for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on portfolio management experience supporting a large book of work (300M+ with 2000+ labor) including Agile financial management.
  • 5+ years of Agile portfolio management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Technology leadership, Finance, and HR to drive transparency, governance, and outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing technology assets and leveraging platforms/tools to manage portfolio data and reporting.
  • Tableau/BI reporting experience preferred
  • Financial services experience.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Prior experience providing oversight for variable staffing needs (contingent workforce, contract renewals/tenure).

Base Pay Range: $136,000/yr - $177,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
