Job Description

About Collective:

Collective is on a mission to redefine the way businesses-of-one work. Our technology and team of trusted advisors help members achieve financial independence by taking care of everything from business incorporation to accounting, bookkeeping, tax services, and access to a thriving community, all in one integrated platform. We believe in empowering self-employed people to enjoy the same tax savings that big companies get, so they can focus on their passion, not paperwork.

Featured in Forbes, Business Insider, Yahoo, Bloomberg, Financial Times, TechCrunch, and more. We are backed by General Catalyst, Sound Ventures (Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary), QED Investors, Google’s Gradient Ventures, Expa, and other investors who have financed iconic companies like YouTube, Substack, Twitch, Box, Hims, Instacart, and Lyft.

About the role:

We're hiring a Product Lead, New Product Verticals to build and evolve the core product experiences that power Collective's member platform. You'll lead every new service Collective launches beyond its core, deciding which bets to make and in what order across banking, credit, lending, factoring, insurance, and retirement, then taking each one from vendor conversations to launch. You'll partner directly with the CEO and executive team and work across Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Growth. Every vertical you launch expands what members can buy from Collective, which makes this role a direct driver of revenue per member and long-term retention.

What you'll do:

  • Own the new-services roadmap: decide which verticals Collective enters next and in what order, with a clear case for each bet.

  • Size every opportunity on the numbers (level of effort, margin, market size, and scope) and bring a point of view to leadership.

  • Find, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and partners for each new service, from first call to signed agreement.

  • Build and lead the team behind each bet, partnering with Engineering to scope, build, and ship it to members.

  • Own go-to-market for each launch: positioning, pricing, rollout, and the metrics that show whether it's working.

  • Run bets in sequence: launch the first, learn fast, move to the next, and hand mature products off to a dedicated PM.

  • Work with Finance, Operations, and the PMs who own our core products so each new vertical fits into the member experience.

  • Grow revenue per member by giving businesses-of-one more of the financial services they need in one place.

What you'll bring:

  • A track record of taking products from zero to one: you've found the opportunity, built it, and shipped it to real users. Former founders (including YC alumni whose company didn't make it) are encouraged to apply.

  • An entrepreneurial, high-ownership mindset: you go talk to the vendor, write the plan, and get it done without waiting for permission.

  • Strong financial modeling skills: you can build a business case around margin, market size, and unit economics, and defend it.

  • Go-to-market or growth experience, and an understanding of what it takes to get a new product adopted, not just launched.

  • Fintech or financial services experience (banking, credit, lending, insurance, or retirement) is a strong plus.

  • Clear, direct communication with executives, outside partners, and engineers alike.

  • Comfort working closely with engineering: you can scope the work, make tradeoffs, and keep a small team moving.

  • Fluency with AI tools for research, prototyping, and analysis.

  • Interest in growing into the leader of a vertical, such as banking or credit, once it has proven itself.

What we offer:

  • Hybrid Work Model: Based in San Francisco with a balance of in-office and remote flexibility.

  • Fresh Lunch: Provided on in-office days.

  • Commuter Support: $150 monthly reimbursement for transit expenses.

  • Health & Wellness: $200 quarterly reimbursement to support your well-being.

  • Time Off: Flexible PTO plus 14 company holidays.

  • Comprehensive Coverage: 100% medical, dental, and vision for employees; 75% coverage for dependents.

  • Parental Leave: 16 weeks fully paid.

  • Retirement & Ownership: 401k plan plus an equity package.

  • Team Connection: Quarterly virtual events and an annual in-person summit.
