FST Tool enhancement in SCORCH and SCCM related areas:

Client Update: We don’t need automation WITH SCORCH we need the automation INTO SCORCH so we are really looking for someone who can do C# and handle the conversion from the XML API to the JSON API.

 

Consultant will provide support enhancements and modernization of the client FST Frontend Tool leveraging SCORCH and SCCM. This work will include SCORCH Integration Modernization, Logging Enhancements, Improving and Enhancing Search Functionality as well as Code Documentation. 

 

This project will cover 6 key areas, including:

• SCORCH Integration Modernization. This includes integrating XML-based requests to JSON-based API calls and ensuring compatibility and stability within the current SCORCH environment.

• Logging Enhancements. Designing and implementing a simplified and user-friendly logging mechanism. This will create daily log views that capture high-level user actions and creation of a separate, simple to follow, read and interpret log layer for operational use and support. 

• “Copy Machine” Function Integration. This will integrate the existing Copy Machine tool into the FST frontend tool and include relational database integration, data structure alignment and full operationalization of this feature.

• User Experience and Messaging Improvements. This will update system messaging and return responses to ensure they are user-friendly, that they guide technicians to relevant SCORCH logs when needed and that overall it reduced the reliance on manual guidance and resources with “tribal” historical knowledge. 

• Enhance Security Functionality. This will implement a search feature for SCCM collections that includes Partial Name search capabilities, search results displayed in a selectable pane and the ability to easily copy/past or insert results into workflows.

• Documentation. This will ensure that all of the above is well defined and documented, including raw/source code and that successful artifacts exist to allow for successful knowledge transfer to client internal technical teams can occur.
