fulcrum engineer

Activities:

• Support, maintain, and build Fulcrum based applications and custom dashboards for querying, updating, visualizing, analyzing, and mapping geographic data to enhance Fulcrum capabilities.
• Serve as the bridge between business users and the Fulcrum, Maximo Enterprise, and Salesforce support teams, both within and outside National Grid (vendor support).
• Create user and developer documentation, walkthroughs, and guides for new features as they release, tailoring content to the specific needs of each audience.
• Conduct product testing and documentation activities, including beta testing, documenting software bugs and inconsistencies, maintaining API documentation, and contributing to tutorials and user guides.
• Work with current and potential users to integrate Fulcrum and related tools into enterprise systems and workflows (e.g., Gas Work Management).
• Communicate regularly with IT and business user teams.
• Collaborate with the team and seek support when needed.
• Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback on the design and development of new product features.
• Proactively find, log, debug/report, and resolve issues before the end-user population finds them.
• Reuse existing software components in the codebase when appropriate; understand when reusing code may not be the best option.
• Write software that follows established conventions and best practices within the company and the broader programming community.

Required Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS for building and maintaining web applications and custom dashboards, and for integrating Fulcrum with enterprise systems.
• Experience using GitHub for version control.
• Experience with Python is a plus for scripting, data analysis, or backend development tasks.
• Experience with tools and libraries such as Salesforce, Maximo Enterprise, Esri GIS, PostGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox, CartoDB, GDAL, QGIS, TileMill, and Bootstrap, a bonus3

Qualifications:

• Technical background with the ability to communicate effectively with both technology and business teams, and to switch fluently between technical and business language.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
