Job Description

Senior Project Manager

Location: Horseheads, New York
Site: Elmira-Corning Regional Airport
Employment type: Full-time

About Evolved Aerospace

Evolved Aerospace develops advanced mission systems for defence and national security customers.

We are expanding our US presence at Elmira-Corning Regional Airport and are looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of complex technical programmes.

The role

You will work between the customer, engineering, operations, integration and test teams to define what needs to be delivered and drive it through to completion.

This is a technically engaged delivery role rather than a traditional PMO position. You will need to stay close to the engineering detail, understand the dependencies across the programme and make sure risks, decisions and blockers are addressed early.

What you will do

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of complex aerospace and defence projects.
  • Translate customer requirements and internal priorities into clear delivery plans.
  • Coordinate activity across engineering, operations, integration, test and supporting teams.
  • Maintain a clear view of progress, risks, dependencies and outstanding decisions.
  • Work closely with technical leads to understand engineering challenges and their impact on delivery.
  • Keep customers and internal stakeholders aligned as requirements and priorities develop.
  • Lead project reviews and drive actions through to completion.
  • Identify blockers early and bring together the right people to resolve them.
  • Support the development of effective delivery processes as the US team grows.

What we are looking for

  • Experience delivering technically complex projects within aerospace, defence, aviation, unmanned systems or a related engineering environment.
  • The ability to work confidently with engineers and understand technical discussions.
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams against demanding customer and delivery objectives.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to maintain momentum when requirements or priorities change.
  • Clear and credible communication with customers, engineers and senior stakeholders.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to project delivery.
  • The ability to work primarily from our site at Elmira-Corning Regional Airport.

Experience involving aircraft, mission systems, avionics, sensor integration, flight test or defence customer delivery would be particularly relevant.

Eligibility

Candidates must be authorised to work in the United States and able to meet applicable US export-control requirements.

The role may support work requiring access to controlled or classified information. Candidates must therefore be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate US security clearance if required.

Equal opportunity

Evolved Aerospace is an equal opportunity employer. We consider applicants without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process.
