Position Type: Contract
Duration: 12+ Months (Strong possibility of extension and potential conversion)

As a Mainframe Cobol Programmer, you will:
- Support and maintain the Data Distributor, NOVA, and SD applications within the Core Deposits team.
- Modify existing COBOL programs to meet product and business requirements, including enhancements, fixes, and regulatory updates.
- Validate and distribute data to Hogan IDS, including nightly batch processing.
- Develop and maintain JCL for batch jobs and production workflows.
- Perform testing, validation, and production deployments following change processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with product and business partners.
- Support production issues and contribute to overall application stability.
- Mentor and help train junior engineers on Hogan and mainframe best practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong COBOL development experience in a mainframe environment - most critical skill.
- Strong understanding of and extensive hands-on experience with VSAM.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy, highly customized mainframe applications.
- Solid understanding of JCL for batch processing.
- Experience with Endevor and other core mainframe technologies.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Solid coding foundation with the ability to learn and adapt within complex legacy systems.
