Experience with Cisco networking, Azure, Python, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot is highly desirable. The role involves close collaboration with network engineering teams, participation in an after-hours on-call rotation, and working within established change and incident management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Python and Terraform automation for network configuration, software upgrades, compliance checks, and remediation.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Repos and YAML Pipelines.

  • Automate network operations through REST APIs and vendor platforms, including Cisco Catalyst Center, Nexus Dashboard, SD-WAN vManage, F5, and Azure Resource Manager.

  • Engineer and support Cisco routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, wireless, and F5 load balancing infrastructure.

  • Design and automate Azure networking components, including VNets, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall.

  • Implement pre-change validation, post-change verification, automated testing, and rollback workflows.

  • Leverage AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, testing, and documentation.

  • Integrate network assurance and verification tools such as ThousandEyes and Forward Networks.

  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and maintain network documentation and IPAM records.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of enterprise DevOps engineering experience, including recent Network Automation / NetDevOps experience.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, and QoS.

  • Production experience with Cisco SD-WAN or Versa, Cisco Firepower/FTD firewalls, and Cisco wireless controllers.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, VNets, and Azure Firewall.

  • Strong Python scripting/development skills and experience integrating with REST APIs.

  • Production experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code (IaC), Git, pull requests, and code reviews.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Repos and YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to validate generated code before production use.

  • Experience with network monitoring, assurance, and verification platforms.

  • Background in financial services technology environments; exposure to Bloomberg, CRD, Eagle, or similar platforms is preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

Preferred Cisco Certifications

Any one of the following certification combinations is preferred:

  • Cisco Certified DevNet Expert or CCIE Automation.

  • Cisco Certified DevNet Professional or CCNP Automation, with Ansible, Terraform, and Python experience.

  • CCIE (Written + Lab), with Ansible, Terraform, and Python experience.

Additional Preferred Experience

  • AIOps pipeline development.

  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations or LLM-assisted workflows for network/infrastructure operations.

  • ITIL-aligned change and incident management processes.

  • Familiarity with network access control platforms such as Forescout, Cisco ISE, or Aruba ClearPass.
