Optus Enterprise & Business is seeking an experiencedFederal Government Operations Managerto provide technical and people leadership across our Professional Services Engineering function. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing a high-performing team of ICT professionals, delivering complex project-based engineering services, and driving successful outcomes for Federal Government customers.

As the Federal PS Engineering Manager, you will lead a regional team of 15+ engineers across ACT and other states, ensuring the successful delivery of Professional Services projects while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes, commercial performance, security compliance, and continuous improvement.

Due to the nature of our Federal Government customers, applicants must be Australian Citizens and either hold a current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance or have submitted an NV1 clearance application within the recent months.

What You'll Do
  • Manage, mentor and develop a regional team of 15+ ICT engineering professionals, driving engagement, performance, certifications, compliance, and a positive team culture.
  • Ensure successful delivery of Professional Services projects to scope, schedule, budget, security, and quality standards while driving customer satisfaction and NPS results.
  • Manage resource planning, forecasting, utilisation, and reporting to maintain billable and productive utilisation above 80% and achieve business objectives.
  • Contribute to business cases and solution development, and collaborate with stakeholders to solve business and technology challenges.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities, improve delivery processes, and contribute to the development of new services, offers, and innovative solutions.
  • Partner with customers, vendors, and internal teams while promoting Optus' market leadership through industry engagement, thought leadership, events, and strategic collaboration.
What You Bring
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in engineering, professional services, or technical operations leadership roles.
  • Extensive technical expertise across networking, voice, wireless, security, and infrastructure solutions within medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience delivering complex ICT projects, from solution design through to implementation and ongoing support.
  • Strong technical pre-sales capability, with experience engaging customers, developing solutions, and supporting new business opportunities.
  • Broad multi-vendor technology experience across the design, deployment, and support of infrastructure solutions.
  • Formal management qualifications, with demonstrated success in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and driving business outcomes.
