ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Java Developer to join their team, responsible for designing, developing, and integrating data solutions that support business stakeholders and align with company strategy and goals. As a key member of a collaborative technical team, you will participate in the analysis and review of epics, features, and user stories, contribute to technical design, and engage in all Agile ceremonies. The Java Developer will develop and modify software applications, participate in code reviews and integration testing, assist with documentation, and provide production support, including on-call rotation. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, interface with multiple technical teams, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of business and technology processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Participate in the analysis and review of epics, features, and user stories
• Contribute to the design and review of technical design for component software features
• Engage in all Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, Demos/Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement
• Develop technical solutions based on user specifications and technology frameworks, adhering to company standards
• Modify and enhance existing software applications as assigned
• Participate in code reviews and integration testing of solutions
• Debug and resolve issues identified during testing phases
• Assist in documenting and implementing software programs and solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams interfacing with assigned applications
• Create and maintain system documentation, manuals, and policy documents
• Research and analyze production support issues
• Participate in scheduled production releases
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation for application support
• Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Java for back-end and API development
• Experience with Git or other version control tools
• Experience with SQL and writing queries
• Experience with non-relational databases such as Mongo, SQL, Oracle, or DB2
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn business and technology processes
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (preferred)
• Experience with Restful APIs (preferred)
• Experience with Python is a plus
