Job Description

The Role

Working closely with the leadership and executive team, you'll develop, implement and monitor the compliance programs, risk management strategies and governance frameworks behind a large-scale initiative. You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining risk management and compliance frameworks aligned to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments and compliance audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Advising on privacy, data protection and information security compliance issues.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Supporting governance activities and contributing to policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring regulatory change and ensuring compliance programs are updated on time.
  • Delivering training and awareness programs that build a strong risk and compliance culture.
Skills and Experience

You'll be a detail-oriented, tech-literate risk and compliance professional with strong commercial acumen. You thrive on business impact and on delivering high-quality outcomes within ambitious timeframes.

  • 8+ years' experience with a proven track record of managing risk and compliance across projects or transformation programs with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, data handling and information security obligations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and build effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to non-specialists.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a small, fast-paced, agile team, with sound judgment on when to elevate.
  • A proactive, hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience in financial services, digital platforms or telecommunications is highly regarded, as is knowledge of the Privacy Act, CPS 234, OAIC guidance, ISO 27001, SOC2 or PCI-DSS, and cross-border contracting.
