Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA with 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup/DR, Azure SQL services, security, and database migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server instances.
• Manage production, staging, and development database environments.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, indexes, and system resources.
• Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, slow queries, and performance issues.
• Design and manage backup and recovery strategies.
• Support HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Failover Cluster Instances, and Replication.
• Perform database migrations between on-premises SQL Server and Azure.
• Support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Implement database security using RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault, and related Azure security controls.
• Support SSIS packages and ETL workflows.
• Provide developer support and participate in SQL code reviews.
• Use monitoring and backup tools such as Redgate.
• Manage storage, system databases, data files, and database configurations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of dedicated SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) knowledge.
• Advanced T-SQL.
• 5+ years of performance monitoring and tuning.
• 5+ years of security/RBAC experience.
• 5+ years of developer support and SQL code review.
• Experience with SSIS / ETL.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database.
• Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Experience with SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Key Vault.
• Azure Backup and Azure RBAC.
• On-premises to Azure database migration experience.
• Strong knowledge of database security, networking, scalability, cost optimization, HA/DR.
• Experience with Redgate or similar database monitoring/backup tools.
• College degree.
