Job Description

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. When you come to Calvary Hospital, you're not just getting a job, you're joining a family.

Requirements

Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and members of the Hospice Team.


Location:
 Manhattan

Salary:  $65,688.82 - $83,221.82/annually

Qualifications: 

  • One (1) year  experience in pastoral/spiritual counseling with issues relating to illness, death, grief and bereavement.
  • Minimum two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral education, credentialed Chaplain or Board Certified Chaplain preferred.
  • Recognition as a Pastoral or Spiritual Counselor.
  • At least one year of hospice experience preferred.
  • Ability to minister to patient/family from diverse cultures and beliefs in their own homes and work as members of an interdisciplinary team.
  • A valid driver’s license is required. (This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)
  • A vehicle is required to commute to patients.  (This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)

Education: 

  • Baccalaureate Degree required; Masters preferred.
