Kforce has a client that is seeking a Weeknight Operator in Redmond, WA.

Overview

We are seeking a Lab Test Operator/Technician to support day-to-day testing operations in a Redmond electronics and semiconductor laboratory. This role will be responsible for operating Automated Test Equipment (ATE), loading chips and wafers, running appropriate test programs, maintaining test equipment, and accurately documenting test results. The ideal candidate has hands-on soldering and electronics experience, strong attention to detail, and experience working in a technical testing or laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to test new chips, wafers, and other electronic components
• Load chips and wafers into automated testing equipment and select/load the appropriate test programs
• Manage day-to-day testing operations to ensure equipment and testing activities remain on schedule
• Monitor testing equipment and tools to ensure they remain operational and ready for use
• Change test equipment components, parts, fixtures, and testing programs as required
• Maintain accurate testing data logs, documenting test activity and results
• Execute special testing requests provided by engineers, following specific instructions that may differ from standard testing procedures
• Load alternate testing programs or configure equipment according to engineering requirements
• Perform basic technical troubleshooting of testing hardware, including identifying issues with load boards and components
• Assist with basic debugging and troubleshooting of electronic test setups
• Perform soldering and rework as needed to support testing and troubleshooting activities
• Communicate effectively with engineers and other lab personnel regarding testing status, issues, and special instructions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hands-on soldering experience is highly important for this position
• Experience working with electronics, electrical systems, test equipment, or laboratory equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document testing activity
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers and other technical personnel
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and established testing procedures
• Ability to work independently while following established processes and procedures
• Willingness to learn specialized testing equipment and processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
• Experience testing chips, wafers, semiconductors, or electronic components
• Previous electronics testing or validation experience
• Experience troubleshooting load boards, fixtures, or test hardware
• Experience with electronic component replacement or rework
• Additional soldering/rework experience
• Basic troubleshooting and debugging skills

Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidates will be hands-on electronics technicians who are comfortable with soldering, test equipment, and troubleshooting. Semiconductor/chip and wafer testing experience is a plus, but the position does not require someone to come from a semiconductor background. Someone with strong electronics testing experience and the ability to learn ATE processes can be successful in the role.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
