Facilities / Maintenance Engineer
Job Title: Facilities Engineer
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Salary: £48,000 (DOE) + annual bonus + excellent benefits
Shift: Days (8am–4pm, with flexibility 6am–2pm / 7am–3pm if required)
Job Role of the Facilities Engineer
A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Facilities Engineer / Maintenance Engineer has come to the forefront. This is a brilliant role within a major food manufacturing business, offering a hands-on position looking after critical site services and utilities. It’s a great opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who wants stability, development, and progression within a supportive engineering function.
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, planned preventative maintenance and project work across a range of site facilities—ensuring compliance, reliability, and maximum uptime.
Sector – Factory / Facilities Maintenance (Food Manufacturing)
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Facilities Engineer
- Electrical or multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance
- Engineering qualification (Level 3 minimum – Electrical preferred)
Requirements for the Facilities Engineer
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills (single phase / three phase)
- Motors and inverter knowledge
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings
- Strong understanding of H&S and compliance (PUWER, LOLER, PAT, COSHH, Electricity at Work, etc.)
- Comfortable working within a small facilities team while supporting a wider engineering department
Desirable Requirements for the Facilities Engineer
- Experience with HVAC / BMS systems
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Experience with compressed air, effluent/DAF plants, and/or water cooling towers
- CMMS experience (e.g., Shire, SAP, COSWIN)
- IOSH / HSE training, Legionella awareness, IPAF/PASMA/Forklift
- Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement mindset
