Your mission
The Manager, Sales Engineering – Life Sciences leads and develops a team of Sales Engineers who act as strategic and technical advisors to life sciences prospects and customers. This role combines people leadership with deep industry and platform expertise, ensuring the team demonstrates how automation and AI can transform regulated, complex business processes across pharma, biotech, medtech, and related life sciences organizations. The manager partners closely with sales, product, and customer success leadership to build a high-performing, industry-credible pre-sales function.
What you'll do at UiPath
Lead, coach, and grow a team of Sales Engineers focused on the life sciences vertical, setting priorities and holding the team to a consistent standard of technical and industry credibility
Partner with sales leadership to build account and territory strategy, allocate SE coverage, and identify growth opportunities across life sciences accounts
Ensure the team delivers high-quality, industry-specific demonstrations and proof-of-value engagements that show how automation and AI improve regulated business processes
Personally engage on strategic or complex deals as a player-coach, including executive-level conversations and technical architecture discussions
Drive consistency in discovery methodology so the team can quantify business value and uncover automation opportunities across accounts
Represent the life sciences SE team in cross-functional planning with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success, feeding field insights back into the roadmap
Champion best-practice sharing across the broader go-to-market organization and represent the life sciences point of view in company-wide SE initiatives
What you'll bring to the team
Recruit, hire, and onboard Sales Engineers with life sciences domain expertise, building bench strength ahead of pipeline growth
Set individual and team goals, conduct regular 1:1s, and manage performance including coaching plans and, where needed, corrective action
Own capacity and coverage planning across accounts and deals, balancing workload and career development opportunities
Develop enablement and certification plans so the team stays current on the platform, AI capabilities, and life sciences regulatory and compliance context (e.g., GxP, validation requirements)
Create a feedback loop with the team to surface product gaps and competitive intelligence specific to life sciences
Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture and support career progression paths for Sales Engineers
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated industry domain knowledge in the life sciences vertical (pharma, biotech, medtech, or CRO environments)
Technical architecture skills sufficient to guide the team through complex, regulated solution designs
Track record partnering with sales leadership on account strategy and deal support with Global 2000 enterprises
Strong coaching, hiring, and performance-management skills
Excellent executive communication skills, able to represent the team with customers, partners, and internal leadership
Background in consulting, sales engineering, or automation programs
Willingness to travel up to 25% annually
Preferred Experience
Prior experience managing or leading a team of Sales Engineers, solutions consultants, or technical pre-sales professionals
Prior individual-contributor experience as a Sales Engineer or Solution(s) Engineer selling into life sciences accounts
Experience scaling a pre-sales team through a period of growth
Familiarity with agentic automation, RPA, and AI/ML-driven process transformation
