Job Description

Structured Products Middle Office Associate

Location: London (50% onsite presence) Sector: Corporate & Institutional Banking - Global Markets Operations

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading global investment bank with a significant presence across Corporate and Institutional Banking, is looking for a Structured Products Middle Office Associate to join their Product Control function within Global Markets Operations, based in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performing, global team supporting complex Structured Credit, Rates, and broader Fixed Income business lines - including Global Macro IR and FX/LM products. You'll be at the heart of ensuring accurate booking, control, and lifecycle management of a sophisticated derivatives and structured products portfolio.

The Role

As part of the Structured Products Middle Office (SPMO) team, you will:

  • Take ownership of daily production tasks across the Structured Products Middle Office
  • Help maintain a robust operational control environment
  • Ensure deals are booked accurately and conform to legal documentation, throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Own and resolve breaks arising from reconciliation controls, working to agreed SLAs
  • Investigate root causes of recurring breaks and drive remediation to strengthen the control environment
  • Report and refine KPIs/KRIs to management, feeding into wider action plans
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including Front Office desks
  • Coordinate across Operations teams to ensure seamless information flow
  • Support decision-making on complex, high-impact issues requiring specialist analysis

What We're Looking For

This role requires genuine, hands-on experience in the following areas - candidates without this background are unlikely to be suitable for the position:

  • Reconciliations - proven experience managing and resolving breaks within a controls or middle office environment, with a track record of driving issues to root cause and resolution within SLA
  • SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles) - solid understanding of SPV structures and their operational implications within a banking or asset management context
  • Structured Products - strong theoretical and practical knowledge of structured products, alongside fixed income, equities, credit, rates, and FX

In addition, you should bring:

  • Material experience within a control function at an investment bank
  • Strong knowledge of front-to-back trade workflows for structured and exotic products
  • Good understanding of operational risk and permanent control frameworks
  • The ability to translate technical detail into clear guidance for a range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working under pressure with shifting priorities
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the confidence to escalate appropriately

Interested candidates with demonstrable Reconciliations, SPV, and Structured Products experience are encouraged to apply.
