Job description
About the Role
Join a small defense and space technology team as its first dedicated electrical and computer engineer. You will lead development of a satellite flight computer and help shape GPU compute electronics for in-orbit AI inference.
What You'll Do
Design and own the flight computer for an upcoming satellite mission.
Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems in the Los Angeles lab with engineering leadership.
Work with manufacturing partners to develop electronics and compute systems for a larger satellite program.
Guide high-speed interconnect decisions, including NVLink and SerDes, and evaluate photonics and optical interconnects.
Develop payload firmware and platform software as needed.
What We're Looking For
Experience ranging from early career to 15 years in electrical and computer engineering.
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
End-to-end custom board or system-board design experience, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.
Knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.
Experience in a high-growth startup or a zero-to-one environment, in addition to any aerospace or government-contractor experience.
Helpful background includes GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, ASICs, photonics, optical interconnects, networking, satellite hardware, or radiation-hardened systems.
Relevant tools and technologies include schematic capture, embedded C/C++, firmware, Linux, and Python.
