Electrical & Computer Engineer

About the Role

Join a small defense and space technology team as its first dedicated electrical and computer engineer. You will lead development of a satellite flight computer and help shape GPU compute electronics for in-orbit AI inference.

What You'll Do

• Design and own the flight computer for an upcoming satellite mission.

• Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems in the Los Angeles lab with engineering leadership.

• Work with manufacturing partners to develop electronics and compute systems for a larger satellite program.

• Guide high-speed interconnect decisions, including NVLink and SerDes, and evaluate photonics and optical interconnects.

• Develop payload firmware and platform software as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Experience ranging from early career to 15 years in electrical and computer engineering.

• A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• End-to-end custom board or system-board design experience, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.

• Knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.

• Experience in a high-growth startup or a zero-to-one environment, in addition to any aerospace or government-contractor experience.

• Helpful background includes GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, ASICs, photonics, optical interconnects, networking, satellite hardware, or radiation-hardened systems.

• Relevant tools and technologies include schematic capture, embedded C/C++, firmware, Linux, and Python.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $120,000 to $220,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Equity and other benefits were not specified.
