At Synergi, part of the DC Thomson Group, we believe strong finance operations are about more than numbers. They're about supporting great customer relationships, maintaining trust, and helping the business make informed decisions with confidence.

We're looking for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with financial data, solving problems, building relationships, and taking pride in accuracy and attention to detail.

As a Sales Ledger Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring invoices, payments, customer accounts and reconciliations are processed accurately and efficiently, helping to support cash flow and maintain high standards of financial control across the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Raising and processing sales invoices, credit notes and related transactions accurately and on time.
  • Allocating customer payments correctly and maintaining accurate customer account records.
  • Supporting account reconciliations and ensuring the sales ledger remains accurate and auditable.
  • Monitoring aged debt and assisting with the resolution of payment and invoice queries.
  • Supporting month-end reporting through timely and accurate financial information.
  • Following finance controls, policies and approval processes to ensure compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, data quality and ways of working.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of, or a strong understanding of, transactional finance or sales ledger processes.
  • Is confident processing invoices, maintaining customer accounts and supporting reconciliations.
  • Has strong attention to detail and enjoys working accurately with financial information.
  • Can build positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Is organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Enjoys identifying improvements and finding more efficient ways of working.
  • Is confident using finance systems and standard business software.

What success looks like

In this role you'll help ensure:

  • Sales ledger transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Customer account records remain up to date and reliable.
  • Payment queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Outstanding debt is actively monitored and supported.
  • Finance controls are maintained and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Opportunities for process improvement are identified and shared.

Our values

You'll thrive in this role if you naturally:

  • Put customers first.
  • Take ownership and get things done.
  • Collaborate effectively with others.
  • Look for opportunities to learn and improve.

Why join us?

Synergi is part of the DC Thomson Group, a family-owned business with a proud heritage and a focus on building sustainable, successful businesses for the future. You'll join a supportive team environment where your contribution matters and where you'll have opportunities to develop your skills and grow your career.

If you're looking for a finance related role where accuracy, customer service and continuous improvement go hand in hand, we'd love to hear from you.
