Job description
Bring complex systems together. Prove their performance. Help protect those who matter.
At Silentium Defence, we develop advanced passive radar and sensing technology that supports Defence and national security. We're looking for an Integration & Test Engineer to help ensure our products perform reliably, from development through to customer acceptance.
If you enjoy working across hardware, software and firmware, investigating challenging problems and turning test results into better products, this is an opportunity to make a tangible contribution.
Your opportunity
You'll take ownership of system integration and testing, bringing structure, clear processes and technical rigour to how we verify product quality, functionality and performance.
Working closely with development and production teams, you'll plan and execute testing, investigate faults and provide evidence that our systems meet their requirements. You'll also help strengthen test automation and regression testing as our products evolve.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement integration and test strategies, plans, procedures and clearly defined test parameters.
- Integrate and test hardware, software and firmware across complex radar systems.
- Design, set up and maintain test environments that support development, verification and acceptance activities.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts, equipment and jigs to improve test coverage, consistency and efficiency.
- Analyse results, identify patterns and communicate findings through clear technical reports.
- Investigate faults and product issues, working with engineers to support resolution and verify fixes.
- Plan and conduct factory acceptance testing to support customer delivery and project completion.
- Improve integration and testing processes while supporting quality standards, applicable requirements and safe working practices.
What you'll bring
You're methodical, curious and comfortable getting hands-on with complex technical systems. You take pride in thorough testing, clear documentation and practical solutions supported by evidence.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical or systems engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to write clear technical plans, procedures and reports.
- Strong communication, planning and prioritisation skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with engineers across disciplines and experience levels.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
We'd also value experience with:
- Automated regression testing and test automation frameworks.
- At least two years' experience in integration and/or test engineering.
- Linux and scripting languages.
- Integration and testing of complex hardware and software systems.
- RF or radar technology.
- Defence projects and ASDEFCON requirements.
- Australian citizenship is mandatory
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
