Java Integration Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and modernize our core backend systems. In this role, you will operate as a high-impact individual contributor, taking full technical ownership of business-critical services from architectural design through production deployment. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, writing clean, high-performance code, and building resilient distributed systems. A primary focus of this role will involve evaluating internal code bases, strategically re-engineering them to modern standards, and seamlessly integrating them with newly onboarded enterprise vendor platforms.

What You Will Do

•            Architect & Develop: Design, code, and deploy robust, production-grade backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem.

•            Modernize & Refactor: Analyze internal systems, identify technical debt, and strategically re-engineer code bases to meet modern software engineering patterns and cloud-ready standards.

•            Enterprise Integration: Design and implement secure, scalable APIs and data-mapping layers to integrate our core platforms with third-party vendor software.

•            Scale Systems: Optimize application performance, ensure high availability, and manage data consistency across distributed architectures.

•            Own Technical Delivery: Turn complex business requirements into scalable technical designs, making critical engineering trade-offs independently.

•            Maintain Code Excellence: Champion rigorous testing strategies, participate in deep code reviews, and continuously improve the codebase health.

•            Ensure Resiliency: Build and test applications for failover, disaster recovery, and maximum operational stability under heavy data loads.

What We Are Looking For

•            Advanced Java Expertise: Deep understanding of core Java, JVM internals, memory management, concurrency, and performance tuning.

•            Spring Ecosystem Mastery: Extensive production experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.

•            Transformation Experience: Proven track record of successfully refactoring and modernizing large-scale legacy code bases without causing production downtime.

•            Integration Expertise: Strong experience designing integration layers, handling complex data translations, and connecting internal services to external third-party/vendor platforms.

•            Distributed Systems & Streaming: Proven track record of building scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka) with a focus on low-latency execution.

•            Data & Caching Proficiency: Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle), schema design, query optimization, and middle-tier caching solutions (e.g., Redis).

•            Technical Independence: Demonstrated ability to take a vague product requirement and independently design and deliver a complete, secure technical solution.

Nice-to-Haves

•            Financial Services Experience: Familiarity with banking domain, high-throughput transactional systems, middle back office platforms such as Calypso

•            Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
