VMware NSX Security Engineer

Location: Spring, TX 100% Onsite

Experience: 10+ years
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer VMware NSX-T/NSX security and networking.
• Implement Distributed Firewall (DFW), Gateway Firewall, and micro-segmentation for zero-trust security.
• Manage Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, logical switching, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Administer NSX Managers, Edge Nodes, and Transport Nodes, including upgrades and patches.
• Troubleshoot network/security issues and support incident response.
• Automate using PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or NSX REST APIs.
• Monitor using VMware Aria Operations, Network Insight, and Splunk.

• VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T
• BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/Geneve, VLAN, TCP/IP
• DFW, L4-L7 Firewall, IDS/IPS, Micro-segmentation
• PowerCLI/PowerShell, Python, Terraform
• Experience with Palo Alto/Check Point and AWS/Azure networking preferred.
• VCP-NV / VCAP-NV / CCNA / CCNP preferred.
