Job Purpose
Lead the Factory Accounting team to ensure appropriate accounting reporting and compliance with IFRS/US GAAP standards. Support Plant Management to ensure a complete understanding of financial information and advise teams regarding future financial forecasts. Oversee the creation and consolidation of forecasts and monthly results for respective factories within the unit. Support Accounting Department Management with the collection and consolidation of total HDMA Factory financial results and advise leadership on financial matters.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead Factory Group Leads while clearly and consistently communicating company and center leadership direction.
• Develop Group Lead skills through goal creation, PPR reviews, training, succession planning, and overall management development.
• Lead the collection and consolidation of HDMA North America Factory results, including budgets and monthly results.
• Mentor key associates to develop future leaders.
• Support Regional BCI teams in implementing C/D plans and themes.
• Oversee deployment of common accounting practices across plants.
• Support Factory Cost Department Management to ensure leadership has a clear understanding of financial results.
• Serve as a financial and cost advisor to Plant and COC Leadership.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Associate degree acceptable with 10+ years of accounting experience.
Minimum Experience
• 10+ years of accounting experience; Honda experience preferred.
• 2+ years in a Group Lead role.
• 4+ years in a leadership role.
Required Skills
• Accounting and financial reporting.
• IFRS and US GAAP knowledge.
• Plant/manufacturing accounting.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Financial analysis and cost control.
• Leadership and associate development.
• Project management.
• Succession planning and mentoring.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to advise plant and senior leadership on financial performance.
Leadership Responsibilities
• Approximately 2 direct reports.
• Approximately 10–15 indirect reports.
• Lead and develop associates in Group Lead positions.
• Develop high-potential associates and future leaders.
Key Responsibilities/Decision Making
• Develop team and associate development plans.
• Evaluate plant conditions and align Accounting associates with appropriate business priorities.
• Review operational activities to ensure standardization and support SOX compliance.
• Establish business plan strategies designed to improve process efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve company profitability through enhanced cost control and cost-down initiatives.
