Sr Python Gen AI Engineer

Long Term Contract

100% Remote

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Python and Generative AI to design, build, and deliver production-grade AI-powered solutions. This is a core individual contributor role focused on technical depth, quality engineering, and active collaboration within a cross-functional team.

Generative AI Engineering

• Design and implement LLM-powered applications including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool-use integrations
• Build and maintain MCP servers and multi-agent orchestration patterns
• Integrate foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) and embedding models for enterprise use cases
• Develop and iterate on prompt engineering strategies and GenAI evaluation frameworks to ensure output quality and reliability

Python Development

• Build scalable, maintainable backend services and APIs using FastAPI
• Write clean, well-tested, production-ready Python code following engineering best practices
• Optimize application performance, observability, and reliability across services
• Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to raising overall code quality

Collaboration

• Work closely with architects, tech leads, product managers, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into working solutions
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, PI planning, and technical discussions
• Document technical designs, API contracts, and solution approaches clearly

Innovation

• Stay current with developments in GenAI, LLM tooling, and the broader AI ecosystem
• Propose and prototype new approaches that improve product capabilities or engineering efficiency
• Apply responsible AI practices including hallucination mitigation, data privacy considerations, and output validation

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years focused on Generative AI or ML engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python and async frameworks, preferably FastAPI
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, pgvector, Azure AI Search), and agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Azure (AKS, Azure OpenAI)
• Experience with MCP, tool-use patterns, or multi-agent workflows is a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to data or analytics-heavy domains such as retail, FMCG, or market intelligence
• Familiarity with Snowflake, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL as data backends for AI applications
• Experience working in SAFe or Agile delivery environments
