Senior Software Engineer (Vision)

• Mytra's robotics team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop software critical for the integration of our perception software and our robotics firmware across our robotic fleet as we scale. You will collaborate closely across multidisciplinary hardware and software teams, own firmware development throughout the product lifecycle, and contribute significantly to real-time embedded systems critical to our robot's performance
• Deliver high quality code across many layers of the robotics software stack
• Implement highly performant and real time code for perception and critical control functions
• Identify performance, maintainability, and reliability of code changes
• Contribute to the complete life cycle of software features including feature definition, implementation, test plan, and roll out strategy
• Assess and contribute to long-term architectural decisions as software evolves
• Lead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of alpha and beta phase prototype robots

Preferred experience in embedded software and/or firmware developmentExperience with network communication technologies, including CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and pub/sub frameworks like NATSBS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalentStrong knowledge of software design and maintainability patternsUnderstanding of Git and software version managementExperience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environmentsDemonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable incremental progress in a continuous integration development environmentUnderstanding of how hardware changes affect robotics software and vice-versaUnderstanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics controlAbility to fluently interpret system data to root cause logged faults and build robust diagnostic toolsStrong experience with Python, particularly focused on application and process level developmentExperience with C/C++/Rust and system level environmentsExperience in computer vision and deep learning skills (detection, segmentation, tracking, depth estimation) together with solid classical and geometric CV, including camera calibration and projection geometryExperience with Linux operating systems and kernel fundamentals
