Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance Required 📅 Contract Length: 8-Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension) ✈️ Travel: Up to 20% Domestic Travel Overview We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to support classified and controlled information systems in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This individual will serve as the primary cybersecurity authority for assigned systems, leading authorization activities, continuous monitoring, risk management, audit readiness, and cybersecurity compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), JSIG, DAAG, classified systems, and DoD cybersecurity requirements. This role offers the opportunity to lead critical cybersecurity initiatives while mentoring junior security personnel and interfacing with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary cybersecurity authority for assigned classified information systems. Lead Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization and continuous monitoring activities. Maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including JSIG, DAAG, NIST, and NISPOM guidance. Support inspections, assessments, audits, and cybersecurity readiness activities. Develop and maintain security documentation, accreditation packages, and authorization artifacts. Manage Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) and drive remediation efforts.

Assess cybersecurity risks and communicate findings to leadership and Authorizing Officials. Oversee cybersecurity Change Control Boards (CCBs) and evaluate security impacts of system changes. Coordinate corrective actions resulting from assessments, audits, or security incidents. Partner with Program Managers, IT teams, Facilities, and Industrial Security teams to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met. Mentor and provide guidance to Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs). Deliver cybersecurity status reports, risk assessments, and compliance updates to leadership.

Required Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance. IAM Level III certification compliant with DoD 8570/8140, such as:
CISSP
CISM
GSLC
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience serving as an ISSM for classified or controlled information systems. Strong knowledge of RMF and DoD authorization processes. Experience with JSIG and/or DAAG authorization and continuous monitoring activities. Understanding of cybersecurity regulations, contractual requirements, and DD254 requirements.

Experience supporting audits, inspections, and cybersecurity assessments. Ability to evaluate risk and communicate cybersecurity posture to leadership. Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience serving as the primary ISSM supporting SAP and/or DoD collateral systems.
Experience owning and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
Track record of driving POA&M closure and remediation efforts.
Experience mentoring ISSOs and leading cybersecurity teams.
Experience chairing or leading Change Control Boards (CCBs).
Strong collaboration skills across enterprise cybersecurity and technical organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level briefings.
