Director, Technical Product Management (EnergyFluo)

POSITION OVERVIEW

TransGrid Energy is establishing a new Product Development organization in Atlanta to support the growth of EnergyFluo, the company's AI-driven energy and operations platform for data centers.

We are seeking a Director of Technical Product Management to lead product strategy, roadmap execution, and cross-functional delivery for EnergyFluo. This role will serve as the bridge between business objectives, customer needs, and engineering execution.

Reporting directly to the VP of Customer Success & CX, this individual will help shape both the product and the organization as the team continues to evolve. Rather than creating separate layers of product and technical leadership, we are looking for a leader who brings strong product management experience, technical fluency, and solid business judgment to drive outcomes across the organization. This is a player-coach role. You will personally own the roadmap and requirements for EnergyFluo, and you will build the product management team as we scale to additional customers and sites.

The ideal candidate has experience leading technical software products, partnering closely with engineering teams, defining product requirements, and delivering scalable solutions in complex environments. Experience in the energy industry is valuable but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own EnergyFluo product strategy, roadmap and release planning, with clear success metrics tied to customer value (savings delivered, time to onboard, reliability)

• Translate customer and operational needs into clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria, and personally write and own key requirements

• Drive the platform from a single flagship deployment to repeatable multi-customer, multi-site delivery: tenancy, self-service onboarding, customer administration and scale

• Define how AI-driven recommendations and automated actions work with operators, including human-in-the-loop approval, safety boundaries and auditability

• Own the integration roadmap across building, power and cooling systems, maintenance (CMMS) and identity platforms, and manage dependencies on third-party vendors

• Partner with Security to make the product enterprise-ready (SOC 2, security documentation, customer security reviews)

• Run product operating rhythms across distributed engineering teams, including across time zones: prioritization, release readiness gates and dependency management

• Work with Customer Success and Sales to bring customer feedback, pilot learnings and market insight into product decisions

• Build and lead the product management function as the organization grows

• Other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, product leadership, or a related field.

• Track record shipping technical platforms that handle real-time operational data (for example, IoT, industrial, energy or infrastructure software) to enterprise customers.

• Experience taking a product from early development to repeatable multi-customer delivery.

• Experience owning product strategy and roadmap development for enterprise software, SaaS, or technology platforms.

• Proven ability to work effectively with software engineering teams and technical stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile delivery practices, and product management frameworks.

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business requirements and vice versa.

• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.

• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

• Travel 20-25%, as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in energy, utilities, distributed energy resources (DER), grid technologies, asset management, or adjacent industries.

• Familiarity with platforms related to energy operations, analytics, monitoring, optimization, or customer-facing software solutions.

• Experience building or scaling product organizations within growing technology companies.

• MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus. Data center or critical-facility operations experience (power, cooling, PUE)

• Familiarity with BMS, EPMS or SCADA systems and industrial protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, MQTT)

• Experience productizing AI/ML features in operational settings, including human-in-the-loop workflows

• Experience with enterprise security and compliance programs (e.g., SOC 2)

• Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams

WORK AUTHORIZATION
