About the Role

TSM Technical Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing entrance systems specialist for an Automatic Door Installation Engineer to join its team in the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience installing automatic door systems who is looking to join a growing business offering varied projects, ongoing training and long-term career development.

Our client is particularly interested in engineers with automatic door installation experience, ideally with knowledge of Record systems. Experience with industrial doors, gates and barriers would be an added bonus, with training available to help develop skills across other product areas.

You'll work across a variety of commercial and public-sector environments, including schools, colleges, hospitals and hospitality settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing automatic door systems across a range of customer sites.

• Ensuring installations meet the required safety, quality and compliance standards.

• Carrying out installation checks and ensuring systems are completed to a high standard.

• Supporting service, maintenance and reactive repair work where required.

• Working with automatic door systems from manufacturers including Record.

• Providing a professional service and maintaining positive customer relationships.

• Working safely and efficiently across a variety of sites.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.

• One-hour paid lunch break included.

Overtime and On-Call

• No current on-call rota. Any potential future on-call requirements can be discussed at interview.

• Overtime available for those looking to increase their earnings.

• Enhanced overtime rates:

  • Time and a half: 6:00am–8:00am and 5:00pm–midnight.

  • Double time: Midnight–6:00am.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Previous experience installing automatic door systems.

• An ADSA qualification.

• A full UK driving licence.

• A strong focus on quality, safety and customer service.

• The ability to work independently and professionally on customer sites.

• A willingness to undertake occasional night work, approximately two nights per month.

Experience with industrial doors, gates and barriers would be advantageous but is not essential.

A DBS check is required due to work in schools and healthcare environments.

Overnight stays: Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on workload. Dinner and breakfast are covered, alongside an overnight allowance.
