Job Description

A high-growth European private-markets firm is seeking an ambitious VP-level marketing professional ready to step up into a broad, high-impact Head of Marketing & Communications role.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the marketing agenda within a specialist investment manager at an important point in its development. The business manages more than €1.3bn and has deployed over €1.5bn into more than 210 high-growth companies across technology, life sciences and impact-led sectors.

The opportunity

Reporting to the CFO & Operating Partner, you will be the senior marketing lead in a lean, entrepreneurial platform. This is a genuinely hands-on position, combining strategic ownership with practical delivery—ideal for someone currently at VP, Senior VP or equivalent level who wants the remit, visibility and accountability of a Head of function.

The business is evolving from a single-strategy proposition into a broader private-markets platform, with future fundraises and new investment strategies planned. You will play a central role in shaping how the firm presents itself to institutional investors, founders, advisers, portfolio companies and the wider market.

Responsibilities

  1. Own and deliver the firm’s marketing and communications strategy, aligned to fundraising, brand development and future strategy launches.
  2. Develop investor-facing materials including presentations, case studies, credentials documents, website content and campaign assets.
  3. Drive thought leadership, transaction announcements, portfolio communications, press releases, newsletters and LinkedIn activity.
  4. Coordinate the marketing workstream for fundraising activity and key external milestones.
  5. Support go-to-market planning for new investment strategies, including proposition development, messaging, launch materials and channel planning.
  6. Build brand presence across key European markets, working with local partners, media, translators and event organisers where appropriate.
  7. Lead the website, SEO, email marketing, CRM data, analytics and broader digital channels.
  8. Manage external PR, content, design, digital, translation, research and events partners.
  9. Support high-profile events, investor engagement and relevant external conference activity.
  10. Ensure communications are appropriate for a regulated financial-services environment, including financial promotions, fund-marketing requirements and data-protection obligations.

Candidate profile

You will likely be a commercially minded, high-performing marketing and communications professional from private markets, alternatives, private credit, private equity, venture capital, asset management or a closely related financial-services setting.

You will bring:

  1. Experience marketing complex investment propositions to sophisticated external audiences.
  2. Exposure to fundraising communications and an understanding of what institutional investors need.
  3. Strong brand, content and communications capability, including excellent written English.
  4. A demonstrable external network across financial-services marketing, agencies, PR, media and events.
  5. Experience managing third-party suppliers, budgets and multiple concurrent priorities.
  6. A practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
  7. Strong digital capability across websites, SEO, LinkedIn, email marketing, CRM and analytics.
  8. An understanding of operating within a regulated environment; experience across European markets, particularly France and Germany, would be beneficial

Why join?

  1. A genuine opportunity to move from VP level into a Head of Marketing & Communications role.
  2. Real ownership of a high-profile marketing agenda, rather than a narrow execution remit.
  3. Direct access to senior leadership and broad exposure across investment, investor relations, portfolio management and operations.
  4. A fast-growing, ambitious, entrepreneurial culture with a direct communication style.
  5. The chance to help build the firm’s deal brand, external reach and position ahead of future fund launches and additional investment strategies.
  6. Annual team off-site in Ibiza.

Package

  1. Base salary up to £115,000.
  2. Discretionary annual bonus, expected to be approximately 25% of base salary.
  3. Potential carry participation, subject to confirmation.
  4. Hybrid working in central London.
  5. 25 days’ holiday plus recognised bank holidays.
  6. Pension, private medical, dental and travel insurance, group life assurance and income protection.
  7. Annual team off-site in Ibiza.
