Modern Workplace Technical Architect

Role Description This role provides an opportunity to lead the architecture of complex Microsoft Modern Workplace transformations, working with senior client stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams to shape secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable solutions. The Modern Workplace Technical Architect provides end-to-end technical leadership across the client program, ensuring solution components are aligned to the target architecture, security requirements, operational objectives, and Microsoft technology roadmap. The role is responsible for maintaining architectural integrity across multiple workstreams including Identity, End User Computing, Collaboration, Unified Communications, Information Governance, Compliance, and Cloud Services. Working closely with client stakeholders, security teams, solution architects, and delivery leads, the Modern Workplace Technical Architect provides governance, design assurance, technical decision-making, and architecture oversight throughout the design, build, testing, and deployment phases of the program. You must be an Australian citizen to apply; security clearance is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overarching architecture leadership across the Modern Workplace workstreams. Provide architecture direction and assurance, while workstream solution architects retain responsibility for detailed solution design and delivery artefacts Define and govern the target-state Microsoft 365 architecture for the client environment. Ensure solution alignment across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, and Windows 365 services. Review and provide feedback on solution designs, architecture decisions, and technical standards with client technical representatives. Lead architecture workshops and technical design reviews with client stakeholders. Manage technical dependencies across EUC, identity, security, collaboration, governance, and cloud services. Ensure solution alignment with security, compliance, operational, and support requirements. Support technical risk management, issue resolution, and architectural governance activities. Provide guidance on Microsoft roadmap considerations, service limitations, and design trade-offs. Support transition to operations and technical handover activities.

End User Computing, Identity, Collaboration, Security, and Compliance solutions. Technical leadership across multi-workstream enterprise programs. Microsoft Modern Workplace and Azure architecture certifications.
