About the Role
Join the land use and zoning practice of a New York real estate law firm. You will advise developers, property owners, institutions, and investors on NYC zoning matters and help guide projects through land use approvals.
What You'll Do
Conduct zoning due diligence for acquisitions and financings, and prepare written analyses of floor area, use, bulk, height, and setbacks.
Advise clients on development rights transactions, including air rights purchases and sales and zoning lot development agreements.
Prepare and manage discretionary approvals, including ULURP applications, BSA variances and special permits, landmark matters, and environmental review.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, community boards, and elected officials during public review.
Work with transactional lawyers on real estate acquisitions and development projects.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of experience interpreting and applying the NYC Zoning Resolution, gained at a law firm, in government, or in a combination of settings.
Hands-on experience with zoning due diligence, written zoning analyses, or land use applications such as ULURP, BSA, or LPC matters.
Admission to the New York Bar and NYC-specific zoning experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $250,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
