This is a 4 to 5 month contract role.

Position Summary

The Epic Tapestry Applications Manager will provide leadership and oversight for the Epic Tapestry application team, supporting the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of health plan and managed care functionality within Epic. This role is responsible for ensuring Tapestry solutions align with operational priorities, regulatory requirements, and organizational strategy while providing strong leadership to analysts and partnering closely with business, clinical, technical, and executive stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong Epic Tapestry expertise combined with application management experience and a solid understanding of payer and managed care operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Epic Tapestry applications team, including analysts, consultants, and other supporting resources.

  • Provide oversight across Epic Tapestry functionality, including Managed Care Administration, Utilization Management, Contracts, Membership, Benefits, Provider Management, and related workflows.

  • Partner with operational and IT leadership to establish priorities, application strategy, and project roadmaps.

  • Oversee application design, configuration, testing, implementation, upgrades, optimization, and production support.

  • Ensure Epic build and workflows follow organizational standards, Epic best practices, and established governance processes.

  • Manage application-related projects, including scope, timelines, resource assignments, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.

  • Mentor and develop Epic analysts while providing guidance on complex build, workflow, and troubleshooting issues.

  • Coordinate with other Epic application teams and technical groups to manage cross-application dependencies and integrations.

  • Partner with health plan, managed care, utilization management, contracting, claims, and provider operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Epic solutions.

  • Lead issue escalation and resolution for high-priority application and operational concerns.

  • Support Epic upgrades, system enhancements, testing initiatives, go-live activities, and stabilization efforts.

  • Establish and monitor team performance, application stability, service levels, and project delivery metrics.

  • Communicate application status, risks, priorities, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of Epic application experience, with significant experience supporting Epic Tapestry.

  • Previous experience managing or leading an Epic application team strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of managed care, payer, health plan, utilization management, provider, membership, benefits, and/or claims-related workflows.

  • Experience leading Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, or major application projects.

  • Strong understanding of Epic governance, change control, testing, release management, and production support processes.

Hourly range: $90-$100/hr. The hourly range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
