We are looking for Senior OpenShift Cloud Engineer for our client in Dallas, TX

Job Title: Senior OpenShift Cloud Engineer

Job Location: Dallas, TX

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $57.00hr - $62.00hr

Job Overview:

The candidate for this role as an OpenShift/Cloud Engineer will be accountable for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership as it relates to the organization s Platform-as-a-Service offerings. The candidate will assist with application migrations to the organization s Platform-as-a-Service offerings and perform other related activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience working with RedHat OpenShift Infrastructure design, deployment, and operational support.
  • Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.6 through the latest stable versions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with the RedHat Enterprise Linux operating system.
  • Experience with Java, JBoss, Nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads.
  • Demonstrated skill in at least one or more configuration management/scripting technologies, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Python.
  • Specific knowledge and experience provisioning multi-node High Availability (HA) clusters, including monitoring, performance testing, and application deployment.
  • Experienced with automated deployment tools.
  • Deep conceptual and applied understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or comparable substitutes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multitasking environment where multiple projects require participation simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical issues.
  • Working knowledge of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Willingness to document processes, share knowledge, and train other members of the team.
  • Working knowledge and adaptability to current technology standards.

Preferred:

  • Experience with VMware technologies such as vCenter, vRA, and vRO, as well as experience running OpenShift on bare metal.
  • Working knowledge of SSL certificate management.
  • Experience with Agile teams, tools, practices, and ceremonies (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.).
  • Ability to keep abreast of relevant industry-leading standards and emerging technologies.
  • Container and pod-level monitoring and logging experience using Dynatrace and QRadar.
  • Experience working with IBM Cloud and/or AWS.
