SAP S/4HANA Technical Lead

Randstad is seeking an S/4HANA Technical Lead to drive technical governance, delivery, and integration architecture for a major enterprise transformation project based in the Washington, DC area (100% remote with occasional regional travel in the Northeast Corridor). Serving as a critical bridge between strategic leadership and hands-on execution, this role acts as the primary technical liaison across the System Integrator, SAP NS2, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Data Management, and application teams. The Technical Lead will enforce Clean Core principles, manage dependencies and technical risks, facilitate architecture reviews, and oversee complex interface and integration deliverables to ensure seamless execution across SAP S/4HANA and connected enterprise initiatives.

responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Technical Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact unifying technical efforts across the System Integrator, SAP NS2, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Data Management workstreams.

Technical Governance & Clean Core Alignment: Enforce SAP Clean Core principles, lead technical review sessions, and ensure custom developments adhere to enterprise architecture standards and security guidelines.

Integration & Interface Oversight: Architect, review, and oversee multi-system interfaces, APIs, and integrations connecting SAP S/4HANA to broader enterprise applications and third-party systems.

Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify technical risks, manage dependencies across active workstreams, and facilitate root-cause resolution for complex technical roadblocks.

Delivery & Release Support: Provide dedicated technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle to ensure deliverables stay on schedule, supporting program governance and strategic transformation goals.

qualifications:

Experience: 8+ years of SAP technical experience, with proven hands-on leadership across complex SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, or transformation initiatives.

SAP & Cloud Expertise: Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, Clean Core strategy, SAP NS2 cloud environments, and modern SAP integration frameworks (APIs, OData, BTP/CPI).

Technical Governance & Security: Proven track record leading technical reviews, code/architecture governance, and collaborating with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture teams.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and technical deliverables across third-party System Integrators, internal IT units, and business leadership.

Communication & Location: Strong leadership, risk-mitigation, and communication skills; open to a remote structure with flexibility for occasional travel to client sites in the DC/Northeast Corridor.
