In this role, you'll:Lead end-to-end project development activities across rail and heavy rail initiatives, operating with a high degree of autonomy and providing hands-on leadership for junior team members.
Drive options analysis and early-stage investment thinking, identifying value-for-money solutions and shaping recommendations, while partnering closely with the Centre of Excellence on formal business case development.
Act as the sponsor's delegate for complex rail initiatives, setting clear objectives, managing scope, risks and interfaces, and ensuring projects progress through assurance and governance frameworks.
Engage and influence a broad range of internal stakeholders, including Sydney Metro and other IPE partners, to align priorities, resolve competing interests and deliver integrated network outcomes.
Provide strong people leadership within a small, high-impact team, balancing delivery with coaching, performance management and capability uplift in a lean environment.
Apply deep rail and project management expertise to anticipate issues, guide decision-making and ensure initiatives are technically robust, deliverable and aligned to whole-of-network outcomes.
You bringYou bring extensive experience leading complex rail and heavy rail projects, with strong end-to-end project management capability and confidence operating independently in ambiguous environments.
You have a deep understanding of government investment and assurance frameworks, with proven experience delivering robust options analysis and early-stage investment advice that drives value for money.
You are comfortable acting as a sponsor's delegate, setting direction, managing risk and interfaces, and leading multidisciplinary activities through development and governance stages.
You are a trusted internal partner and influencer, able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across Transport, including Sydney Metro and IPE, to align priorities and resolve competing interests.
You are an experienced people leader, capable of managing and developing a small team, providing hands on guidance where needed while fostering accountability and capability uplift.
