Job Title: Senior Full Stack Developer
Location: Richfield, Minnesota
Duration: 12+ Months

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong backend expertise and some leadership experience to join Best Buy s Merchandising / Vendor Funds engineering team. The role will focus primarily on backend development while contributing to frontend applications and modernization of legacy systems into scalable, distributed applications.

The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, experienced in JVM-based development and Test-Driven Development (TDD), and comfortable with pair programming and Agile engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications.
• Modernize and replace legacy mission-critical systems with distributed applications.
• Develop backend services using Java/Groovy, Spring, REST, HTTP, and JSON.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and strong software engineering practices.
• Contribute to frontend development using React or JavaScript frameworks.
• Work with databases and data stores including PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Develop and integrate event-driven solutions using Kafka.
• Participate actively in pair programming, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot applications in Linux/Unix environments using Bash and related tools.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and demonstrate leadership within the development team.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in a JVM-based language Java, Groovy, etc.
• Strong hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong experience developing backend applications and services
• Willingness and ability to pair program and work collaboratively
• Experience with Agile software development practices
