Quick overview
Job description
Senior Vice President, Financial Services Advisory, London
At AlixPartners, we solve the most complex and critical challenges in financial services, moving quickly from analysis to action when it matters most and creating value that lasts for institutions, their people, and the communities they serve. We understand, respect, and honour the needs of our employees, clients, and communities, and we actively promote an inclusive environment. We believe diversity strengthens our work and are committed to continually improving our initiatives, policies, and practices. We hold ourselves accountable by providing space for authenticity, growth, and equity for everyone.
AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model that supports work-life integration. The model combines in-person work, at a client site or in our London office, with remote working. This role requires three days per week in the London office or on client site. Travel is part of the role, though frequency varies with client, team, and individual circumstances.
What you’ll do
Our Financial Services Advisory team provides independent, senior-level expertise that helps banks, insurers, wealth managers, and payments providers improve business performance. You will lead engagements across:
- Strategy and operating model design for retail financial services, including governance and capability design
- Transformation progammes, aligned to business objectives including technology-enabled transformations
- Cost reduction, outsourcing, and operational improvement initiatives
- Commercial, operational and technology due diligence, carve-outs, and merger integration, including private equity transactions spanning buy-side diligence, sell-side preparation, value creation planning, and exit readiness
- Customer analytics and AI-enabled decision-making, including fraud, risk, and growth use cases
- Interim leadership, and project turnaround for financial institutions
Central to our work is a deep understanding of how to drive change in financial services, and what creates value for a financial services firm. You will work closely with senior clients to address strategic, operational, and technological challenges to deliver measurable results.
What you’ll need
- A consulting background in financial services.
- Depth of experience in at least one specific sector in retail financial services (such as retail banking, wealth management, insurance, or payments), along with the versatility to work across multiple financial services sectors and businesses.
- Performance improvement, cost transformation, and operating model design experience.
- The ability to work at pace, whilst still delivering high-quality outputs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent presentation capabilities and comfort working with senior executives.
- Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong financial literacy.
- A keen personal interest in market trends and technology, and their current impact on the financial services industry.
- Ability to travel for client work and to work in a remote environment.
Preferred:
- Industry experience within financial services.
- European language capability, such as Spanish, Portuguese, or another European language.
- Private equity transaction experience, such as buy-side due diligence, value creation planning, and exit readiness.
You must become familiar with, promote, and abide by our Core Values as defined in the AlixPartners Code of Conduct, and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of the organisation.
The firm offers market-leading benefits with flexible options, including health benefits that support physical and emotional well-being, time-off policies that help people recharge, and financial and retirement benefits that offer income protection and support long-term planning. Benefit types and levels differ by location.
AlixPartners is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, or disability.
