Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to ensure the quality, security, and performance of digital banking applications across mobile (iOS/Android) and web platforms.
The QA Engineer – Mobile Banking App Enhancement is a specialized role within the Testing Center. This role is dedicated to ensuring the quality, security, and performance of Digital Banking applications across iOS and Android platforms. As the organization undertakes strategic enhancements to its mobile banking channels, the QA Engineer acts as the primary quality custodian, ensuring a seamless, secure, and intuitive digital experience for its clients.
Working in an Agile delivery environment, the QA Engineer will design and execute comprehensive test strategies encompassing functional, non-functional, usability, and integration testing. A critical focus of this role is validating complex API integrations between the mobile/web front-end and the T24 Core Banking backend system, ensuring real-time data accuracy, transaction integrity, and strict adherence to security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for iOS, Android, and Web-based Digital Banking applications.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, usability, and end-to-end testing across mobile devices, emulators/simulators, and web browsers.
- Design and execute end-to-end test scenarios covering mobile/web applications, API middleware, and Temenos T24 Core Banking integrations.
- Validate REST/JSON APIs using tools such as Postman and SoapUI, ensuring data accuracy, payload validation, error handling, and transaction integrity.
- Test critical banking functionalities including eKYC/customer onboarding, account opening, biometric authentication, fund transfers, bill payments, fixed deposits, transaction limits, and notifications.
- Validate payment workflows, including domestic payments, international remittances, and internal fund transfers.
- Test digital wallet provisioning, card tokenisation, card lifecycle, and Apple Pay/In-App Provisioning integrations.
- Perform mobile security testing, including MFA/OTP, biometric authentication, session management, encryption, OAuth/OIDC, and vulnerability validation.
- Conduct performance, load, compatibility, and accessibility testing to ensure application stability and optimal user experience.
- Validate OCR and document verification capabilities for eKYC, including Arabic and English documents.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, including root-cause analysis for application and integration issues.
- Test integrations with BPM/workflow systems and maker-checker back-office portals.
- Collaborate with automation teams to identify suitable scenarios for Appium, Selenium, and other automation frameworks.
- Utilize mobile testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or AWS Device Farm for device and browser coverage.
- Coordinate with security, development, product, and automation teams to resolve critical defects and integration issues.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect metrics, and status updates, escalating critical issues affecting application stability or transaction processing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of mobile testing processes, device labs, test environments, and QA standards.
- 6+ years of QA experience in the banking or financial services sector.
- At least 3 years of dedicated experience testing native/hybrid mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web portals.
- Experience testing card issuance and digital wallet provisioning (e.g., Apple Pay), ideally including Apple or card-scheme certification.
- Experience testing digital onboarding/eKYC with OCR capture and back-office maker-checker workflows in UAE banking.
- Proven track record of testing complex API integrations with core banking backends.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments and collaborating closely with UI/UX and development teams.
- Note: This is a 3-month contract position.
