Job Description

Senior Cloud Engineer
Long term contract-to-hire 36 months+ 
1 days per week in either of these zip code offices: 54601/22031/10001/55344/43081/78701, fully remote is possible for right candidates.

Our client, a premier national healthcare provider, is currently looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer on their Cloud Infrastructure team. You will be helping to maintain, add new features and operate our client's cloud platform that supports the entire organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure and most of those associated services. The client is looking for strong Terraform experience and knowledge of networking within an AWS or Azure environment. Our client is looking for someone who truly has expertise in cloud engineering and building cloud platforms.

Terraform is heavily used for IaC and that experience is a must have. Since our client is multi- cloud and this team also supports an Azure platform. Any type of a Computer Science or Object Oriented Coding background is also a preferred skill to have.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and operate IaaS and PaaS infrastructure in Azure and AWS commercial and government clouds.
  • Engineer and maintain deployment automation/tooling (CI/CD pipelines, scripting, deployment platforms), converting repeat manual work into durable automation.
  • Own reliability of non-prod and production delivery environments: keep release
  • environments healthy, respond to operational issues impacting delivery, and coordinate
  • environment refresh/restore activities
  • Utilize Kubernetes for container orchestration and management, ensuring scalability,
  • reliability, and high availability of the system.
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to ensure system
  • performance and availability.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of
  • continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Support software and/or cloud-infrastructure in an on-call rotation basis when needed.

Qualifications:

  • United States Citizenship.
  • Strong experience working within the AWS and Azure cloud as a cloud engineer or
  • DevOps engineer.
  • FedRAMP experience is a big plus.
  • Must have hands-on Terraform skills since it is a heavy Terraform environment. Strong
  • experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Expert knowledge of deploying Production grade applications in AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with IDEs and Source Control tools like Github or Gitlab.
  • Solid awareness of networking and internet protocols.
  • 8+ years of experience in automated cloud infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms including experience with serverless architectures, containers, and orchestration
