Job Description

TOPdesk is an international software company specializing in service management with 700 employees in 8 countries and 5,500 customers worldwide. For our Kaiserslautern office, we are looking for a UX Researcher.

Your environment

As a Senior UX Researcher, you'll work across multiple product areas. You are partnering with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers based in the Netherlands, Germany, and Hungary to ensure user insight drives strategic and discovery decisions. You'll work closely with other UX Researchers and contribute to a shared research practice that spans the organization.

Your job

  • Ownership of research direction across one or more product domains, identifying critical knowledge gaps and translating them into research questions and study plans

  • Design and execution of complex qualitative and quantitative research independently, helping product teams understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points before solutions are defined

  • Synthesis of insights across multiple studies and sources to identify broader patterns and strategic product opportunities

  • Bringing clarity to the decisions that teams and leadership are making, ensuring they are grounded in strong evidence and a clear reading of the trade-offs

  • Translation of findings into clear, actionable recommendations that reveal patterns and shape product direction

  • Collaboration with relevant product teams and management on research implications and decision trade-offs, aligning research across the product domain, and navigating competing stakeholder priorities

  • Feedback to junior researchers and other product colleagues (designers or Product Managers), reviewing their work for quality

  • Improvement of research practices, standards, and ResearchOps activities within the team

  • Evaluation and application of new research methods and AI-supported research techniques responsibly

  • Regular engagement with stakeholders across product, design, and leadership to communicate findings and build organizational research maturity

Your profile

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in UX research (medior/senior capacity)

  • You have successfully planned and led complex end-to-end UX research studies involving multiple stakeholders or user groups

  • You have a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Design, or a related field; equivalent practical research experience is also accepted

  • You work independently on complex research challenges involving multiple studies and stakeholders

  • You have strong command of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and know when and how to apply them

  • You are skilled at synthesizing findings across studies to surface broader patterns and strategic product opportunities

  • You bring clarity to complex decisions and can help teams and leadership act confidently on evidence

  • You have experience mentoring researchers or improving shared research practices and workflows

  • You integrate AI tools into research workflows where they improve efficiency without reducing research quality, and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs before incorporating them into findings

  • You bring strong communication skills and can present findings clearly to both direct teams and wider audiences

  • You have a proactive mindset and a drive for continuous improvement in research practice

  • You are fluent (C1) in English, ensuring clear communication across teams

  • Strongly preferred: You are fluent (C1) in either German or Dutch, enabling effective collaboration in German-speaking and/or Dutch-speaking environments

Nice to have:

  • Foundational UX research training or certification, e.g. Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g), UXPA, or CPUX

Benefits

  • Job security: Permanent employment contract
  • Remote work: Option to work up to 50% remotely
