This role will manage complex projects involving multiple technical teams and hundreds of applications. The Project Manager will develop project roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, manage dependencies, and drive long-term infrastructure projects, typically lasting 6+ months.
This is primarily an Infrastructure / Technical Project Management role rather than a traditional application development or SDLC-focused Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage 4–5 concurrent, time-sensitive infrastructure projects in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Lead projects related to AWS, cloud infrastructure, databases, networking, security, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Develop project roadmaps, schedules, timelines, milestones, and implementation plans.
- Assess and communicate the impact of infrastructure changes across upstream and downstream systems.
- Track project status, risks, issues, dependencies, blockers, and remediation activities.
- Coordinate across multiple technical and business teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, project follow-ups, and cross-functional communication.
- Host office hours and obtain commitments from participating teams.
- Proactively escalate risks, delays, and blockers while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
- Ensure timely resolution of project issues and dependencies.
- Prepare project status reports, executive presentations, dashboards, and metrics.
- Perform reporting and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Communicate technical concepts and project impacts clearly to business and executive stakeholders.
- Provide occasional weekend support when required.
- 4–6+ years of Infrastructure / Technical Project Management experience within a large enterprise environment.
- Strong experience managing projects involving:
- AWS / Cloud Infrastructure
- Enterprise Infrastructure
- Networking
- Databases
- Security
- Experience leading infrastructure-focused projects rather than traditional SDLC/product development projects.
- Working knowledge of AWS and cloud infrastructure concepts.
- Understanding of networking, enterprise infrastructure, system integrations, and technical dependencies.
- Strong project management fundamentals, including:
- Project scheduling
- Timelines and milestones
- Risk management
- Issue tracking
- Dependency management
- Escalation management
- Remediation tracking
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong ability to understand technical concepts and translate them for business stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
- AWS Associate-level certification preferred but not required.
- Equivalent hands-on AWS infrastructure experience will be considered in place of AWS certification.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying and escalating project risks.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong follow-up and accountability skills.
- Team-oriented and comfortable working with both senior and junior technical resources.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Flexible to provide occasional weekend support when required.
Key Hiring Focus
The ideal candidate should be a Technical / Infrastructure Project Manager with strong AWS exposure, rather than a general IT or application-development Project Manager.
The strongest candidates will have experience managing complex AWS, infrastructure, networking, database, or security projects across large enterprise environments while coordinating dependencies across multiple systems and technical teams.
If you want, I can also give you the best job title + must-have skills + targeted Boolean string for this role.
