Role Description The Articled Assistant (CMA & CA) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves assisting in statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and other assurance engagements under the supervision of senior team members. The Articled Assistant will support in preparing financial statements, working papers, and documentation for Direct and Indirect Tax compliance and filings. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting basic research on tax and regulatory matters, performing data analysis, and helping implement technology-enabled solutions for clients. The role also includes coordinating with clients to collect information, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to process improvements within the firm.
Qualifications
- Completed both groups of CA or CMA Intermediate level examinations.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, auditing standards, and Direct & Indirect Tax concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort working with accounting or ERP software; willingness to learn new technology tools.
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data and basic statutory requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Tamil is an added advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines during peak filing and audit periods.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism, and client service orientation, with a willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
- Prior internship or practical exposure in audit, taxation, or accounting will be considered beneficial but is not mandatory.
