Description:

The Argyle is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support our HR team while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of HR functions.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in building a career in HR, business administration, employee relations, or organizational development. You will contribute to meaningful projects involving recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits, training, employee engagement, and general HR operations within a professional hospitality environment.

Requirements:

Essential Duties / Functions / Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Assist with job postings, application reviews, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • Prepare new-hire paperwork, onboarding materials, orientation schedules, and employee files.
  • Help organize Form I-9 documentation and other required employment records.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic and paper personnel files.
  • Update employee information, spreadsheets, reports, checklists, and HR tracking tools.
  • Support benefits enrollment, training coordination, performance reviews, and employee communications.
  • Help create employee announcements, flyers, surveys, presentations, and engagement materials.
  • Assist with employee recognition, wellness, and engagement initiatives.
  • Schedule interviews, orientations, meetings, and employee events.
  • Research HR practices and employment-related topics.
  • Assist with personnel-file audits and identify missing or outdated documentation.
  • Respond professionally to routine employee and applicant questions, referring sensitive matters to HR leadership.
  • Support additional HR projects and administrative needs as assigned.

Educational / Experience Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
  • Previous office, customer service, hospitality, or administrative experience is preferred but not required.
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in human resources, employee relations, recruiting, or organizational development is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and respect for confidential information.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees, applicants, managers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn HR information systems, payroll platforms, and document-management processes.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
