Job Description

About the Role

This is a new kind of operations role at a pre-seed AI recruiting startup: you're the human layer that makes autonomous recruiting agents actually work. Sitting at the intersection of talent operations and AI quality control, you'll supervise agent pipelines at scale, step in for high-judgment moments, and help define what AI-native recruiting looks like in practice.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor live AI agent pipelines — flag errors, catch edge cases, and intervene when human judgment is needed.

  • Handle high-stakes candidate conversations: senior profiles, compensation negotiations, and complex objections.

  • Review agent outputs, label good and bad responses, and write training examples that improve AI performance over time.

  • Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints.

  • Guide candidates through final stages, manage offers, and ensure successful placements.

  • Document what works — build SOPs and playbooks that define how humans and agents collaborate at scale.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in talent operations, recruitment, or sourcing at early-stage tech startups.

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g. large language models) to evaluate output quality, spot errors, and understand AI capabilities and limitations.

  • Proven ability to design and optimize end-to-end recruitment workflows — sourcing through offer management.

  • Experience managing and quality-assuring high-volume candidate pipelines (hundreds to thousands of weekly touchpoints).

  • Comfort closing placements and handling final-stage candidate conversations including offer negotiation.

  • Data-driven mindset: familiarity with KPIs, dashboards, A/B testing, and conversion rate analysis.

  • Experience providing structured feedback to improve AI/ML systems or agent behavior.

  • Cross-functional collaborator — comfortable working alongside product, engineering, and leadership in a fast-moving startup.

  • Mid-career / operator-level profile; not an executive or overqualified hire.

  • Nice to have: Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or Supabase for effective communication with engineers; experience in AI/ML-focused environments; process documentation or SOP creation.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus uncapped performance-based compensation tied to placements — top performers earn significantly more. Equity is performance-based: top performers receive grants after a 90-day window, with potential for meaningful ownership as scope grows. Benefits include health insurance and visa sponsorship.

Location

Hybrid — primary location is San Francisco, CA, with remote flexibility available within the United States.
